What We Believe

In common with all orthodox Christian denominations, we accept the Holy Scriptures (the Bible) as containing all things necessary for our salvation, as they tell the story of men and women of faith from earliest times and of their encounters with the living God. This story climaxes in the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Bible continues with the story of our Christian ancestors in the early Church. Our faith is perhaps best summed up in the words of acclamation that form part of our Prayer of Consecration at Holy Communion:

Christ has died

Christ is risen

Christ will come again.

We believe we are called to pattern our lives on the life of Christ and to live in anticipation of his return, in all things seeking to please him. To do so, we are called to be ‘members of one Body’ – or as we call it locally, a ‘Community of Blessing’ (blessed by God, blessing each other, blessing God’s world).
