Have you been coming to church for 6 months or more and are willing to follow the Licerpool Diocese’s ‘Rule of Life’ and serve as a volunteer at All Hallows? There are many roles that need to be filled within our church community – have you the skills, interest, expertise and willingness to join the other volunteers?

We are urgently in need of a PCC Secretary. After 5 years of servicde Katherine is stepping down. Here is the person specification

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Personal Attributes and Training

    • Awareness of the legal requirements relating to Data Protection
    • Good Interpersonal skills and ability to work with other people
    • Computer Literate
    • Ability to deal with matters confidentially, sensitively and with compassion
    • Self-Motivated
    • Willing to undertake safeguarding training and any other relevant courses

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes

    • Awareness of Church of England structures
    • Experience of working in a similar role, in a paid or voluntary capacity
    • Enjoy learning and new experiences

We have many opportunites for you to join our family of volunteers. Here are some of the other roles you may like to consider:

  • Church Warden – Along with the Vicar, responsible for the administration of the church and care of the buildings
    PCC Member – To serve as an elected member contributing to the day to day running of all activities within the church and a trustee of the church charity
    Deanery Synod Member – To represent All Hallows within the Deanery
    Sidesperson – To welcome people and perpare the church for services and events
    Fundraising Team Member – To work as part of a team planning, organising, servicing, and promoting events and activities
    Vestry Count Team Member – On a rota basis to counr monies collected in church and prepare for banking
    Parish Legacy Odfficer – To promote legacies within the parish and support individuals about how to leave a gift within their will
    Pastoral Ministry Team – To provide support ro members of the congregation at various times of crisis or life events and offer Holy Communion at home, if requested.
    Jingle Tots Leader – To work within the team to provide one morning per week group for toddlers during term time
    Eco Church – To look at ways All Hallows can reduce its net carbon footprint and become more eco-friendly
    Fairtrade/Traidcraft Representative – To organsie sales of Traidcraft items to help fight poverty by assisting farmers in Africa and Asia to sell their products through the Fairtrade scheme.
    Health and Safety – To work alongside other volunteers to ensure compliance with regulations and to ensure the safety of our buildings
    Building Maintenance Team – To look after the fabric and utilites of the buildings by doing small repairs or referring to other services
    Grounds Maintenance Team – To halpe keep the grounds tidy and safe for the enjoyment of all
    Flower Arranging Team Member – To help prepare flowers on a weekly basis for services and events
    Children’s Society Representative
    First Aiders – To be a qualified first aider or be willing to attend relevant training to be part of a published team of first aiders

As you can see there are many roles needed to run a church and all volunteers will need to go through the safe recruitment process which includes undergoing safeguarding training and, for some roles, having a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Please prayerfully consider these roles and help All Hallows to continue to develop and grow as we Worship God, Welcome People and Serve the Community.
